Alaska Wildlife Cruises
Alaska is an exotic land shrouded in intrigue and mystery.
The Great Land, as it was called by Alaskan Natives,
is truly immense and it is just as diverse. It stretches more
than 500 miles further West into the Bering Sea than the Eastern
shore of Russia in the Arctic and covers a distance of nearly
2500 miles from East to West. It stretches more than 1500
miles from Pt. Barrow in the North to Ketchikan in the South.
The diversity of this great land can be seen from the storm
swept Aleutian Islands and the Pribilofs, to the vast tundra
that covers the deep layer of frozen permafrost that stretches
from Fairbanks through the Brooks Mountain Range to the Arctic
Ocean. It can be seen in the tremendous mountain ranges that
spread across Alaska and give birth to Mt. McKinley, the highest
mountain on the North American continent at 20,320 feet. No
where is this diversity more apparent than in the vast Coastal
Waters of Alaska. Just part of the State's coastline waters
that stretch from the Alaskan Peninsula, South to Kodiak,
Homer, Prince William Sound, then through the Inside Passage
of Southeastern Alaska to Ketchikan contain more coastline
than the entire combined coastline of the rest of the United
States. The vast wilderness areas surrounding the coast have
both active and dormant volcanoes, mountains that seem to
drop right into the ocean, glaciers that crawl out of the
mountains into the sea creating walls of ice that are hundreds
of feet high, virgin rain forests containing old growth timber
with huge Spruce and Cedar trees, and thousands of species
of birds, animals, marine mammals, and fish.
It is in these Coastal Waters that a limited number of adventurers
are transported by an Ocean going Vessel to experience
The Great Land. A 3 to 7 day cruise is offered that
begins in Whittier or Seward. Your adventure will take you
into Prince William Sound that is the heart of this fantastic
coastal wilderness. You will see thousands of sea birds and
cruise through waters that are home to Stellar Sea Lions,
Sea Otters, Humpback Whales, Orca Killer Whales, Porpoises,
and Seals. Be sure to bring your binoculars and watch the
shoreline because Black Bear, Brown Bear, Wolves, and Sitka
Blacktail Deer inhabit this primeval country. As you continue
the cruise for several days you will see lots of wildlife,
massive glaciers, distant volcanoes, and scenery that will
take your breath away. Time will be taken to do all of the
fishing that you would like for Halibut, Salmon, and many
other species such as Ling Cod and Rock Fish. We provide adequate
fishing gear for you to use and there are fishing licenses
available on board for your convenience.
You will live on the boat where there are separate bunks,
toilets, and running hot water to allow marine showers after
an exhilarating day of watching birds and wildlife or fishing
for Salmon or Halibut. Outstanding personal service is provided
and we strive for an atmosphere that is comfortable and relaxed.
There are lots of activities and you can choose to stand at
the rail and watch for whales to breach, enjoy some fishing,
or relax at a comfortable table with a cup of coffee in one
hand and look out through the picture windows at awesome scenery.
You will be pampered with great meals including New York Steaks,
seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits, nice desserts, lots
of snacks and your favorite beverages. The vessel is
operated by a captain who is licensed by the US Coast Guard.
It is also outfitted with top of the line life saving, firefighting,
and navigation equipment.
This will be an adventure experience of a lifetime and a
chance to see some of the most spectacular scenic beauty,
sea birds, marine mammals, and wildlife that the World has
to offer. Join us for an Adventure Cruise that you
will never forget!
