The 2007 - 2008 Alaska Hunting Rugulations are now available to the public. Some major changes are listed below. For a complete review of these hunting regulations click on the following link:

Dall Sheep - Sealing is now required for all Dall Sheep horns taken from rams in areas where there is a size restriction. Horns must be attached to the skull plate and presented to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game within 15 days of the date of kill.

Alaska Yukon Moose - Generally, the seasons and conditions for hunting Moose are being limited with more and more restrictions going into effect. These include such things as being required to leave the meat on the bone in Units 9B, 17, 18, 19A, 19B, 21, 23, and 24 and in other areas such as Units 21B, 21C, and 21D for resident permit holders to destroy the trophy value of the bull Moose. In Big Game Unit 18, the Lower Kuskokwim River drainage is closed to Moose hunting. A major change affecting non-residents is that in most of Unit 21 non-residents are now required to apply for and draw a permit in order to hunt Moose.

Brown/Grizzly Bear - Generally, the seasons and bag limits for hunting Brown/Grizzly Bear are being liberalized. It is now legal to shoot a bear every regulatory year in Units 6A, 6B, 6C, 11, 12, 13, 16B, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22A, 22B, 22D, 23, 24, 25, and 26. In Unit 20E residents and non-residents may take 2 Brown/Grizzly Bears per regulatory year. The season in Unit 20E opens on August 10 and closes on the 30th of June.

Wolf - The season for hunting Wolves has been extended in Unit 19 and now opens on August 1 and closes on the 31st of May. The limit is 10 Wolves and non-resident Big Game Tags are not required. In Unit 16 the season continues to open on August 10 and to close on April 30. The limit is 10 Wolves and non-resident Big Game Tags are not required.
